Divisions are split into Male and Female for each age category. The following divisions resemble the age of the athlete:

  • 7 and under
  • 11–13
  • 14–15
  • Semi-Pro (16–34)
  • Pro (16–34)
  • Masters (35+)

Birthday and Age Rules

These rules explain when an athlete must move into a new age division, and when they are allowed to compete in a division above their own.

Competing Up vs. Competing Down

Athletes may “compete up” into one division above their current age division but may never “compete down” into a lower division.

  • Competing up is only allowed if the athlete is within one year of meeting the higher division’s age requirement.
  • Competing down is never allowed, under any circumstances.

Birthday Cutoff Date: August 1st

The League uses August 1st as the cutoff date for determining when an athlete must move up to a new age division. How this rule applies depends on when the athlete’s birthday falls relative to that date.

  1. Birthday falls before August 1st — If an athlete’s birthday moves them into the next age division before August 1st, they must begin competing in that new division as soon as their birthday passes. The move is immediate; there is no grace period.
  2. Birthday falls on or after August 1st — If an athlete’s birthday moves them into the next age division on or after August 1st, one of two things applies, depending on whether the athlete has already competed that season:
    1. If the athlete already competed earlier in the season (before August 1st): they may finish out the rest of the season in their current (lower) division, even after their birthday passes.
    1. If the athlete has not yet competed this season, and it is now on or after August 1st: they must register and compete in the division that matches their current age — they may not enter under their prior division.

Example: Suppose the cutoff between two divisions is age 14. An athlete who turns 14 on July 15th must move up to the older division starting July 15th. An athlete who turns 14 on August 10th, and has already competed once before August 1st, may stay in the younger division for the rest of the season. An athlete who turns 14 on August 10th but has not yet competed this season must enter the older division.

January through November

The TX Parkour League season begins in January. Qualifier events run through late October, and the State Championship takes place in early-to-mid November — giving athletes roughly ten months before the finals.

The Texas Parkour League season occurs most of the year for the following considerations:

  • Allow to easily schedule around other competitive entities that operate in Texas
  • Give competitors plenty of chances to earn points
  • Give gyms plenty of options and opportunities to host competitions

The 2026 League has a registration fee of $15 for the season. Click the “Join Today” button at the top of this page to register. After completing the registration, you will have access to the competition schedule and be able to register for competitions throughout Texas!

Athletes must compete in Qualifier events throughout Texas to earn points that will be added to their athlete ID. There are 3 categories of points:

Speed points
Freestyle points
Skill points

There are several ways to earn points:

– Attending an area qualifier event – 1 point
– Getting 4th place – 1 point
– Getting 3rd place – 2 points
– Getting 2nd place – 3 points
– Getting 1st place – 5 points
– Attending 3 competitions in a season – 3 points

Competitions hosted by 3rd party organizations such as USA Parkour, USPK, and others can count towards points with proof of registration and official results of that competition.

2026 REDUCED SEASON:

Only Speed and Style categories are tracked for points in qualifier events. The Skill category will only be available at the State Championship and will be open registration for applicable divisions.

Qualifiers are open for anyone to compete. You do not have to live in Texas to participate in the Texas Parkour League Qualifiers.

However, the State Championship will require that you have a Texas Zip Code associated with your account to be eligible for podium. Non-Texan citizens are welcome to compete in the finals, but their score will not be counted towards the official rankings.

There are two ways to quality for the State Championship Finals:

  1. Earn points through Qualifier events at local gyms throughout Texas.
  2. Test your luck in the on-site qualifier event.

Competitors must earn 8 points within a season to be entered into the State Championship Finals.

The 2026 Season is a reduced season, and competitors will only need to earn 4 points, OR podium in any qualifier event to be entered into the State Championship Finals.

To get past the on-site qualifiers and be entered into the State Championship, athlete’s must be in the top 51% OR the top 3, whichever is less.

The 2026 Season is considered a “Reduced Season” and will follow a different subset of rules that apply only to the 2026 Season. Please download the 2026 Reduced Season Rules to see the changes. Changes are made in the following sections: Season, Registration, Point System, Divisions, and Competition Categories.
